Vinted postage UK: how labels, drop-off and packing work

Sold something on Vinted in the UK and staring at “Get shipping label”? This page is the practical bit: how prepaid postage labels work, what you can (and cannot) change after a sale, what drop-off usually looks like, and how to pack so the parcel survives the journey.

Last updated: 15 September 2026

No invented postage prices. No “best carrier” rankings. No transit-time promises. Carrier lists change — always verify in the app and on Vinted UK Help. For the full beginner path (fees, set-up, titles, HMRC pointer): How to sell on Vinted in the UK.

How postage labels work

On Vinted UK, when a buyer pays with Buy now and picks one of the integrated postage options available for that order, they usually purchase a prepaid label for you to use. Vinted then sends you a digital label or code (and instructions) in the order conversation — for example whether you need a printed sticker or a QR code at the drop-off point.

Your job as seller:

  1. Use the prepaid Vinted-generated label for that order — not a random label you bought elsewhere.
  2. Pack the item properly.
  3. Drop off / send following the instructions on that order (carrier, service, and drop-off type the buyer chose).
  4. Keep proof of posting until the order completes (receipt, email confirmation, or a photo of the labelled parcel).

Vinted's Help Centre is clear that once the prepaid label is purchased, that label must be used. If a different label or the wrong postage option is used, the order can be cancelled automatically. Tracked, in-system postage is the point of staying inside Buy now. Off-platform postage and payment remove the protection both sides rely on and usually break the rules.

Your postage settings vs the buyer's choice

You can influence which options buyers see, but you do not pick the label after they have paid.

  • Go to Profile → Settings → Postage.
  • Under shipping as a seller, enable or disable the options that work for you (from your address vs from a drop-off point, depending on what the app shows).
  • Some options cannot be turned off — Help explains this keeps at least one route available.
  • Availability also depends on your location, parcel size, the buyer's location, and what Vinted currently offers. Providers can be added, removed, or temporarily disabled.

Critical: once the buyer has bought the item and paid for the postage label, you generally cannot switch their chosen option. The usual path to change it is to cancel and have the order placed again. Do not assume you can “just send it with someone else.” Manage your shipping options (Vinted Help)

Practical tip: before you list a lot of stock, open Postage settings and check which drop-off points are realistic for you. Enabling every toggle and then discovering the nearest shop is a long bus ride is a common beginner frustration — not a carrier “scam.”

Carriers you may see (verify in-app)

Carrier lists change. What appears at checkout depends on settings, size, postcode, and what Vinted has enabled. Treat every name below as “Help documented it on the check date” — not a permanent menu.

Confirmed on Vinted UK Help (checked 2026-09-14)

Vinted's shipping overview currently lists integrated providers including Evri and InPost, plus others such as DPD, Royal Mail, Relay, AnyVan, and DHL Express (see Help for when each appears).

Evri — Help documents prepaid Vinted-generated Evri labels for UK send/receive, including printable labels or a digital QR at parcelshop / locker drop-off. Rates depend on parcel size; the buyer sees the postage cost at checkout. Pack properly; keep proof of shipping until the order completes. Evri shipping (Vinted Help)

InPost — Help documents prepaid InPost QR codes or labels (printable or digital), with home delivery and locker / shop pick-up flows for mainland England / Scotland / Wales. Again: rates by size at checkout; manage visibility under Postage settings. InPost shipping (Vinted Help)

Other names on the same Help overview (DPD, Royal Mail, Relay, AnyVan, DHL Express) can appear depending on the order. We are not ranking them. Open the linked articles from Shipping on Vinted if one of those options shows on your sale.

Yodel — not confirmed on this check

Older UK guides mentioned Yodel alongside Evri and InPost. On 2026-09-14, the former Help article redirected to the Help Centre home, and Yodel did not appear in the provider list on the shipping overview. A Help search for “Yodel” returned no live Yodel article.

Do not assume Yodel is still an integrated option. If you still see a Yodel-style choice in the app, follow the in-app instructions for that order — and prefer the live Help Centre over any blog list (including this one after it ages).

Bottom line: options can include Evri, InPost, and other providers Vinted documents today — verify in-app and on Help before you rely on any name.

Drop-off reality

Expect the order screen to tell you whether you need:

  • A printable label stuck on the parcel, or
  • A digital label / QR code shown at a parcelshop, locker, or staffed counter so they print or scan it there.

Common drop-off habits that save returns and “where is my parcel?” stress:

  1. Read the order instructions first — not a random TikTok for a different carrier.
  2. Check the drop-off point is open and accepts the service shown (locker vs shop vs counter).
  3. Use the label for this order. Wrong barcode = cancelled order risk.
  4. Photograph the packed, labelled parcel before you leave home (Help often suggests this for compensation disputes).
  5. Keep the drop-off receipt or confirmation until the buyer confirms and the order completes.
  6. Allow time for tracking to appear in the Vinted conversation after you send — carrier Help often mentions a delay before tracking shows on Vinted. Use the deadline shown on your order.

If Item Verification (or similar paid checks) applies to the order, Help says integrated postage is required and the parcel may route via a verification hub before the buyer. Follow the order flow — do not improvise a shortcut.

Packing tips (short and practical)

You do not need boutique packaging. You do need the item to arrive as described.

  • Clean and dry before you pack. No perfume or strong detergent smell.
  • Poly mailer or sturdy bag for soft clothing; a rigid box for anything with structure, heels, ceramics, or tech accessories.
  • Protect corners and hardware (zips, buckles, heels) with a bit of paper or card.
  • Wrap liquids / cosmetics only if allowed by the carrier and Vinted rules for that category — when in doubt, check Help and do not guess.
  • One clear outer label facing out; do not cover barcodes.
  • Honest listing photos of flaws beat bubble wrap as dispute prevention — pack well and describe well.
  • If Help for that carrier says poor packing can void compensation or lead to a refund, take that seriously.

Thin margins disappear when you under-pack a coat and spend a week in a damage claim. Pack once, properly.

Listings come first

Postage is step two. If the listing never gets clicked, you never print a label.

FAQ

Who chooses the postage on Vinted UK?

Usually the buyer, from the integrated options available for that checkout (shaped by your Postage settings, parcel details, locations, and what Vinted currently offers). They pay for the prepaid label; you use it.

Can I switch from Evri to InPost after the sale?

Generally no. Help says the selected option cannot be changed after purchase except by cancelling and placing the order again. See Manage your shipping options in Vinted Help.

Which is better — Evri or InPost?

We do not rank carriers. Use the prepaid label for the option the buyer chose. Compare drop-off convenience for you when setting Postage toggles — not vibes from a forum thread. Verify current options on Shipping on Vinted in Help.

How much does Vinted postage cost?

We do not publish invented rates. Help says shipping rates depend on parcel size (and sometimes locations). Buyers see the postage total at checkout. Check the live checkout and the relevant carrier Help article.

What if I use the wrong label?

Help warns that using a different label or the wrong shipping option can cause the order to be cancelled automatically. Stick to the Vinted-generated label for that conversation.

Is Yodel still available?

Not confirmed on our 2026-09-14 Help check. The old Yodel Help URL redirected to the Help Centre home, and Yodel was not on the provider list. Trust the app and live Help over any static blog list.

Do I need a printer?

Often no — many flows offer a digital QR / label-at-shop option. The order screen tells you. Confirm before you travel to a drop-off point without a printed sticker if the instructions require one.
