Beginner's guide
How to sell on Vinted: a beginner's guide
New to Vinted? This is the no-fluff version: how to set up your account, photograph items so they sell, write listings buyers actually click, and ship without losing money. Once you have the basics down, our paid guides go deeper on sourcing, pricing, and scaling.
1. Set up your account
Sign up at vinted.com with a real first name and a clear profile picture — trust matters. Add a short bio that mentions your style ("vintage denim, 90s tees, EU 38–40") so the right buyers find you. Verify your phone number and connect a payout method right away so your first sale doesn't get stuck.
2. Photograph items the right way
Photos are 80% of the sale. Shoot in daylight near a window, on a plain wall or neutral sheet. Use 4–6 photos per listing: full front, full back, label, fabric close-up, any flaws, and one styled shot if possible. Avoid heavy filters — buyers want to see the real color and condition.
3. Write listings that sell
Lead the title with the brand and a clear keyword ("Levi's 501 vintage denim jacket"). In the description add size (measured flat), material, condition, and any tiny defects. Buyers reward honesty with fewer disputes and better reviews.
4. Price with a small margin to negotiate
Vinted is a haggling culture. Price 10–20% above what you'd accept so you have room to accept offers. Use "Bundle discount" to push buyers toward multiple items, and re-list slow movers every few weeks to refresh visibility.
5. Ship safely and on time
Use the prepaid Vinted label — it's tracked and protects you in case of disputes. Pack flat in a reused poly mailer, add a "thank you" note, and ship within 48 hours. Late shipping is the #1 reason for bad reviews on Vinted.
